Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance

The Nintendo Gameboy line of portable consoles were some of the first portable game console I had ever owned. I don't remember how I got the Gameboy Advance, but I vividly remember getting the Gameboy Color as a hand-me-down from my cousins. I've had equally good experiences using both consoles and have enjoyed my time playing games on both of them.

The Gameboy Color that I own is a Teal model. The battery door on the back of it has, for as long as I can remember, been broken for some inexplicable reason. Like the Gamecube, I never really played many of the first party games for the console, usually resorting to odd third-party titles like 4-in-1 Fun Pack Volume II, Disney's Aladdin, and some Batman game I can't remember the name of.

The Gameboy Advance SP that I have is a standard silver model. Like the Gameboy Color, I didn't really have many first-party games for it, and usually played games like Over The Hedge, Mouse Trap-Operation-Simon 3 in 1, and Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots. Additionally, I also have some of those Game Boy Video cartridges in my possession. Although there's probably a dozen better ways to watch an episode of SpongeBob, nothing can beat the novelty of watching it on the small low-res GBA screen.

Overall, the Nintendo Gameboy line of portable consoles were a solid line of handheld gaming devices. They have an excellent selection of games and accessories that both the Game Boy Color and Advance benefit from.
