Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 was a console with a lot of firsts for me. It was one of my first modern non-Nintendo consoles, my first Internet-enabled console, and the first console where I experienced the wonder of online gaming for the first time. OK, that last one is a double-edged sword because on one hand I got to play Call Of Duty with my cousins without having to deal with the eye-straining splitscreen mode at their house, and on the other hand Xbox Live Voice Chat was a brutal place.

I remember getting the 360 as a present for my 13th Birthday while shopping at a 2nd & Charles. When I got it home, I resetted the settings and content that the previous owners had on it and started playing some of the games I had got for it. The first two games I played on my 360 were You Don't Know Jack and Frontlines: Fuel of War.

For the longest time, I've always thought of the 360 as the "Cousins' Console". Before I got mine, my only experience with the console was playing it at my Cousins' house. All of my cousins had a Xbox 360 and I would always join as the split-screen guest account on one of them whenever we played either a System Link or Online match of Call of Duty. Getting to own one after getting to try it out for so long at my Cousins's house was awesome and I had many experiences (both positive and negative) playing COD with strangers over Xbox Live.

Besides Call of Duty, most of the other games I played on the Xbox 360 were Minecraft, GTA 4 and 5, Borderlands, The Orange Box, Fallout 3, Skyrim, and whatever weird stuff I could find and afford off the Xbox 360 Arcade and Indie Game Marketplaces. Speaking of which, Anyone else remember some of the weird stuff that was on Indie Game marketplace like CastleMiner Z? How about the Xbox Arcade releases of iconic games like Goat Simulator, Plants vs. Zombies, Bejewled 2, or Telltale's The Walking Dead?

Overall, the Xbox 360 was the console where I had my first experiences with online gaming. I fondly remember spending time playing COD with my cousins on it and playing with new people over Xbox Live. It was a great console, and it's one I love revisiting from time to time.
